Species validation:
Species-level identification was carried out by mitochondrial Cytochrome C Oxidase Subunit 1 (COI) DNA barcoding according standard ANSI/ATCC ASN-0003-2015 and revealed Rattus norvegicus species.
Cytogenetics:
near-diploid rat karyotype with 4% tetraploidy - 41/42(36-42)<2n>XX - hypodiploid sideline with 1q+ marker (18%) - near triploid sideline with additional structural and numerical rearrangements (2%) - presence of sidelines-subclones may warrant cloning prior to use in transformation assays
