HAP-T1
ACC 222
Cell line:
HAP-T1
DSMZ no.:
ACC 222
Species:
Syrian hamster (golden hamster) (Mesocricetus auratus)
Cell type:
pancreas carcinoma
Origin:
established from the BHP-induced pancreatic carcinoma of a Syrian golden hamster (Mesocricetus auratus; GN strain) in 1983
Reference(s):
Biosafety level:
1
Permissions and restrictions:
DSMZ Cell Culture Data:
Medium:
90% DMEM + 10% h.i. FBS
Subculture:
seed out at 1-3 x 106 cells/175 cm2;
split confluent culture at 1:3 to 1: 6 every 3-5 days using trypsin/EDTA
Incubation:
at 37 °C with 5% CO2
Doubling time:
about 25-30 hours
Harvest:
cell harvest of about 30-40 x 106 cells/175 cm2
Storage:
frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO
DSMZ Scientific Data:
Mycoplasma:
negative in DAPI, microbiological culture, RNA hybridization assays
Species validation:
Species-level identification was carried out by mitochondrial Cytochrome C Oxidase Subunit 1 (COI) DNA barcoding according standard ANSI/ATCC ASN-0003-2015 and revealed Mesocricetus auratus species.
Cytogenetics:
near diploid hamster karyotype with tetraploid sideline (18%) and 18% polyploidy - 44(40-45)<2n>X/XX - paucity of homologous chromosomes indicates a high level of rearrangement - hamster markers present - resembles published karyotype
Viruses:
ELISA: reverse transcriptase positive; PCR: SMRV -
