established from the bone marrow metastasis of an epithelioid sarcoma (epidural tumor) of a 41-year-old man following unsuccessful chemotherapy in 1991; cells were described in the literature to grow rapidly after heterotransplantation into nude mice, to secrete functional GM-CSF and to be positive for AE-1, AE-3, vimentin and epithelial membrane antigen
