established from the pleural effusion of a post-menopausal patient with untreated breast carcinoma (tumor: widespread ductal mammary carcinoma T4 N2 M1 with histological grade III); cells were described in the literature to express androgen, estrogen and progesterone receptors (different to own data of DSMZ); RNA sequence data are available (see Ref 40906 and RNA-Seq)

seed out at ca. 1 x 10⁶ cells/25 cm²; cells grow very slowly; split confluent culture 1:2 every 3-4 days using trypsin/EDTA

at 37 °C with CO₂
