seed out at ca. 1 x 106 cells/25 cm2; maintain at ca. 1-2 x 106 cells/25 cm2; split confluent culture 1:2 once a week; cells are difficult to detach, it is recommended to use trypsin/EDTA at higher concentration or "Accutase" (PAA, Austria) and to incubate for 20-30 min at 37 °C, avoid any scraping; reduced viability due to long exposure to trypsin
