The strain carries different plasmids: 59.1 kb, 33.3 kb (lactose plasmid), 22.7 kb, 10.5 kb, 8 kb (citrate plasmid), 7.3 kb, 7 kb, 6.2 kb, 4.1 kb, 2.4 kb; the plasmids were isolated from a starter culture; the lactose plasmid is conjugative and the citrate plasmid is mobilizable by the lactose plasmid; the plasmids encode lactose fermentation/citrate utilization.
