established from the bone marrow of a 73-year-old woman with acute myeloid leukemia at relapse in 1989; cells were described in the literature to be cytokine-dependent (GM-CSF, IL-6, or M-CSF) and to carry the translocations t(3;3)(q21;q26) and t(12;22)(p13;q12) leading to MECOM (EVI1) overexpression and to ETV6-MN1 (TEL-MN1) fusion gene, respectively
