Over the past decade researchers at the Leibniz Institute DSMZ developed a number of global successful bioinformatics tools and databases. All tools are publicly available, easy to use and are free of charge.
Most of the tools are already an integrated part of the DSMZ Digital Diversity platform.
Tools for prokaryotic research
- BacDive (The Bacterial Diversity Metadatabase)
- GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility)
- GGDC (Genome-to-Genome Distance Calculator)
- LPSN (List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature), formerly PNU (Prokaryotic Nomenclature Up-to-date)
- MediaDive (The world's largest collection of cultivation media)
- OPM - Analysis of OmniLog® Phenotype Microarray data
- Phylogeny Server (Gene phylogenies and similarities)
- TYGS (Type (Strain) Genome Server)
Tools for virus research
Tools for eukaryotic research
- DSMZCellDive (Tools for Diving into Cell Line Data)
