The Leibniz Society's working group "Equal Opportunities and Diversity" has developed guidelines and actions to help establish a diversity-promoting and inclusive institutional culture at each Leibniz institution. This includes the appointment of a person in charge of diversity at each institution. The structural anchoring of diversity and inclusion means that age difference, sexual identity, ethnic and religious affiliation, and social origin are not a criterion when filling new positions and are not of concern in everyday interactions.
The Leibniz Institute DSMZ appointed its representative body for diversity in October 2022.
