Produces nitrite reductase (23952). (Medium 215 aerobic, or anaerobic under N2 plus 2 g/l KNO3. Rehydrate and grow lyophilized cells from the ampoule in 5 ml liquid broth 215. Subsequent subculturing may be carried out in liquid medium or on agar plates).
