Strain PA14 is a human clinical isolate and is pathogenic in mice and invertebrates (insects) and also in plants; this was the reason to develop a "multihost pathogenesis system" for identification of the P. aeruginosa virulence factors; this strain has been observed to segregate lasR mutant cells (visible as few white colonies); strain was deposited as host for phages JG012, JG013, JG014, JG016, JG=17 and JG018 x x. (Medium 1, 37°C).
