pUTK9
DSM 6701
PLASMIDS
Name:
pUTK9
DSM No.:
6701 dsm-6701 dsm6701 dsm 6701 pUTK9
History:
<- G.S. Sayler, Univ. Tennessee
Mol. weight:
20 kb
Marker:
Apr, Kmr
Remarks:
Strain is inducible to high levels of light production in the presence of a suitable substrate and the nahR regulatory gene product. Induction of bioluminescence coincides with naphthalene degradation. The subcloned promoter from the upper pathway of plasmid NAH7 formed a fusion with the luxCDABE genes of V. fischeri. A XhoII fragment of pUTK8 was cloned into the lux vector pUCD615 at the BamHI site to create pUTK9. The strain should always be kept under selective pressure (growth on antibiotics).
Distributed in:
Pseudomonas putida RB1351
