<- ATCC <- R. Vreeland, 1H15. Saltern; Netherlands Antilles, Bonaire. Taxonomy/description (2529, 6122, 8166). DSM 3044 (accessed in 1984 from Vreeland) and DSM 6767 (accessed in 1991 from ATCC 33174) are both derived from Vreeland’s strain 1H15. They are identical, but are not members of the genus Chromohalobacter and are not identical with the 16S rRNA gene deposited as AJ295147 that is cited as being from ATCC 33174 (8166). Produces alkaline phosphatase (6122), acid phosphatase (6122). (Medium 593, 37°C).
