additional information:
<- ATCC <- P. Baumann; 334 <- J.W. Hastings; Ei2. Seawater; Israel. Taxonomy/description (253). Bright luminescence. Iridescence, rainbow-diffuse. Bioluminescence. Bright luminescence only on agar medium 243, not on media 101, 115 or marine agar (Difco). Good growth on all media. Please be aware that strains of this species are grouped in Risk Group 2 by German authorities when used in genetic engineering. (Medium 243 or Medium 101 + 3% NaCl (w/v) or Medium 530 or Medium 115 + 1.5% NaCl (w/v), resuspend and grow the lyophilized cells of the ampoules in liquid medium 243. Subsequently, subculturing may be carried out in liquid medium or on agar plates.).
