Constructed by removing, with an AccI partial digest and T4 DNA polymerase fill, the SalI site at position 2566 on the pCP112 integrative plasmid. pCP115 carries the inducible cat gene from pC194 but no Gram-positive origin of replication. pBR327 provided the tetracycline (tet) and ampicillin (bla) resistance genes together with the ColE1 origin of replication (ori), and pC194 the Gram-positive chloramphenicol (cat) resistance gene.
